Over the year, films based on children have carved a special niche for themselves in Kollywood. And, following the trend is Katha Solla Porom, directed and produced by Kalyan. The film has Aadukalam Naren, Vijayalakshmi, Kaali Venkat and a bunch of adorable kids in important roles.
Katha Solla Poraom opens with a child kidnap scene at a hospital. The child's parents, Naren and Vijayalakshmi, desperately searches for his new born girl baby and learns that it was a lady who is behind the act. Unfortunately, the lady ends up in coma after an accident while chasing--all doors are now closed for the couple to find their child. Eight years down the lane, a bunch of kids from an orphanage ends up in a tug of war with another group in an apartment which is situated just opposite to each other. Now, what connection does the couple have to this orphanage? Will they ever find their child? Watch out for Katha Solla Porom in theatres to know more...
The film has a neatly carved storyline with an interesting screenplay, thus keeping the audience hooked to the screen from the start to end.
A perfect casting coup, the kids are adorable and has played their role with ease and perfection. Naren and Vijayalakshmi are apt as the doting parents who begins a mission to find their missing daughter.
Director Kalyan has given the right dose of comedy and emotion laced with few thrilling moments. He has made sure that nothing is in overdose.
And of course, the climax which will definitely leave the audience spellbound.
Cinematographer Jemin Jom Ayyaneth has captured the innocence of the kids well while Vijay's cuts are perfect. Ramesh Pavan's music goes hand-in-hand with the storyline.
The melodramatic romantic scenes between the couple could have been avoided, it actually slows down the pace of the film
