Jigina Movie review
Jigina is a tale about a youngster who gets involved in the dangerous practice of using fake identities in social media. The film has Vijay Vasanth playing the lead role of a taxi driver who is disappointed with his looks. That's when his IT friends who are also his passengers suggest to him to start a fake account in Facebook with someone else’s photo to chat with girls. Saniya Tara falls in love with the fake identity of Vijay Vasanth. What happens when Saniya gets to know the real identity of the man she has come to love, forms the rest of the story.
Actor Vijay Vasanth has delivered a neat and decent performance as the taxi driver. The actor has elevated himself to a capable solo hero with this film. Despite being the debut venture of Saniya Tara, the actress has done justice to her role. Kumki Ashwin and Singam Puli are the main supporting characters and they maintain the pace and flow of the film.
Ravi Nanda Periyasamy of 'Oru Kalloriyin Kathai' fame has taken up a concept relevant to the present generation. The film delivers a social message that one has to be confident in himself and not hide behind a fake identity, if he wants to find real happiness. Though the film’s concept is new, the screenplay tends to lag at certain places. However, the racy second half and dramatic twists keep the audience engaged. The film’s background score and music by the new comer John Peter with the lyrics of Yugabharathi is laudable. On the whole, the film is a must watch for all youngsters given the message that it delivers.
Verdict: A simple thoughtful film!
