Inji Iduppazhagi Movie review
After the success of Jyothika's 36 Vayadhinile, now it is Anushka Shetty, who is creating waves with the women-centric Inji Iduppazhagi. Directed by Prakash Kovelamudi, the film has Anushka Shetty, Arya and Sonal Chauhan in the lead. Anushka plays the role of a bubbly girl, who fails to find a groom because of her obesity issues. One day her mother Urvashi brings the proposal of Arya, a documentary film-maker, who later becomes a good friend of Anushka. However, right after the first meeting Anushka falls for him. At one point she gets to know that Arya is in love with slim and fit Sonal Chauhan. This disappoints her very badly. What happens next? To know more watch the film on theatres!
The film primarily focuses on the concept of weight loss and obesity and also how a woman can be extremely confident and happy about the way she looks. Presented by PVP Cinemas, the film has music scored by M. M. Keeravani while Nirav Shah handles the cinematography.
*The film offers freshness in concept which throws a much need message to the society.
*Anushka is the driving force of this film. She is definitely an effortless performance and there is no doubt that anybody would fall for this bubbly beauty.
*Despite having lesser screen space, Arya has delivered a neat performance which resembles much of his real self - a fitness freak.
*Urvashi's has pulled off her role as mother with ease. Every time the actress appears on screen, the audience are left on splits.
*The cameo avatars of many celebrities at the right point is interesting.
*Graphics department's effort is worth the mention.
*Though the film is a bi-lingual, it looks like the film is primarily shot in Telugu because it fails to offer a proper lip sync in its Tamil version.
*Few scenes which are inserted in the film for the sake of comedy fails to evoke laughter.
*A good story, which could have been executed with a better humorous and convincing screenplay.
Verdict: A light WEIGHT comedy entertainer
