CZ12 Movie review
Synopsis: Chan (Jackie Chan), a mercenary and relic hunter is on a mission to track down six priceless bronze animal heads made after the 12 Chinese zodiac.
The biggest problem in CZ12 is its dragging screenplay written by Jackie Chan, Frankie Chan, Edward Tang and Stanley Tong. However the story is obviously tailor-made as Jackie Chan's vanity project than anything else matters. With a remarkable dearth of the martial acrobatics, the film is a treat for Chan fans.
Chan plays the leader of a Indiana Jones-type archeological thieves, who is smart at swiping rare antiquities across the globe. And that is when MP Corporation (Oliver Platt) hires him to find the missing bronze zodiac animal heads from the old Summer Palace in Beijing. There Chan meets the irritating Coco (Yao Xingtong), a member of an activist group who fights in returning national treasures to their rightful owners. And their journey begins.
Despite the ups and down, there are many JC moments in the film. As this is the last action film of one of the greatest on screen idols in the world, this is not the right place to debate on the quality of the screenplay or the flaws in the story. Grab a popocorn and enjoy this Jackie Chan film.
