Kavan Movie Review

After his last successful outing Anegan in 2015, cinematographer turned director KV Anand is back again with another commercial potboiler Kavan starring Vijay Sethupathi, T Rajhendherr and Madonna Sebastian in the lead roles. Actors Bose Venkat, Akashdeep Saigan, Vikranth, Jegan, Pandirajan and others play supporting roles in this venture which has music composed by Hip hop Adhi. Produced by AGS Entertainment, Kavan has dialogues written by Kabilan Vairamuthu.

THUMBS UP:

Kavan’s screenplay is a huge plus point as it keeps the attention of the audience intact for most of the film. Even though the script was completed six months, certain incidents reflect today’s scenario across Tamil Nadu.

Even though Vijay Sethupathi essays the lead role, KV Anand has scripted the story in such a way that the supporting characters have importance in taking the story forward.

There are no glorifying scenes and song misplacement, which worked well for the movie.

T Rajhendherr is in his elements and the combination scenes with Vijay Sethupathi and him is a treat to watch.

Hip Hop Adhi’s climax score complements the mood of the scene and takes you into a different place.

THUMBS DOWN:

There are certain scenes in Kavan which slows down the pace.

Madonna Sebastian’s character could have been given more importance considering the fact that is a power-house performer.

VERDICT:

Another commercial venture where the story is the hero.

Verdict: Another commercial venture where the story is the hero.
