'Maestro' Ilaiyaraaja and his son and composer Yuvan Shankar Raja have joined hands with leading Tamil filmmaker Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi for a music video to raise awareness on child sex abuse. The trio have collaborated for the song titled 'Yaar Intha Peigal' released on the Sony Music platform, which stresses on the need for effective communication between children and elders in order to inform and educate parents about how such a depressing saga will continue to torment young kids if a parent fails to listen and communicate with a child, who has been subjected to sexually abuse in the society. The Tamil cinema stalwarts have come forward to highlight the travails and agony of young children with the 'Yaar Intha Peigal' awareness music video in the hopes of bringing people together to fight against child sexual abuse.
'Yaar Intha Peigal' aims to also become a talking point for adults and children as sex is a taboo subject in our country. The makers of the song state that unless the woes of children are addressed, they would be subjected to repeated sexual abuse thereby stifling them both physically and emotionally. The 'Yaar Intha Peigal' music video has been made not only as an initiative to create an awareness, but also educate the people. "A child's innocence should be protected and sexual predators should be abolished," the makers of the song have stated.
Composed by maestro Ilayaraja with vocals by Yuvan Shankar Raja, the music video for 'Yaar Intha Peigal' has been directed by Kiruthiga Udhayandhi, while the lyrics have been penned by acclaimed Tamil lyricist Pa. Vijay. Some of the biggest names in the Tamil film industry are a part of the music video, including the iconic Santosh Sivan for the cinematography, followed by editor Lawrence Kishore, art director Sakthee Venkatraj. M. and publicity designer Gopi Prasannaa.
