An on screen partnership that has been awaited by fans for a long time, both Vishal and Arya are now set to join hands for an upcoming film under director Anand Shankar. Known for his films, Arima Nambi starring Vikram Prabhu and Priya Anand, the box office 2016 blockbuster, Iru Mugan, with 'Chiyaan' Vikram in dual roles and Nayanthara and the Vijay Deverakonda bilingual NOTA, Anand Shankar has established himself to be a talent to reckon in the Tamil film industry.

Anand Shankar has now confirmed that he will indeed be teaming up with Vishal and Arya and took to his Twitter page on Tuesday to make the massive announcement. He tweeted, "As we get back to work.. I’m glad and powered up to share with you that #VISHAL30 and #ARYA32 is going to be #ANANDSHANKAR4 Official announcement of the multi starrer will be made by our producer @vinod_offl #VINOD10 @VishalKOfficial @arya_offl  #CastingCoup soon...". The project will be Vishal's 30th venture, Arya's 32nd in his career, producer's Vinod's 10th and is expected to roll into production in the next few days.

As of now, the upcoming multi-starrer will see Vishal playing the lead, with Arya revealed to cast as the antagonist. Being close friends in real life, their partnership will no doubt be a tremendous plus for the film and will be a major highlight after starred in National Award-winning director Bala's comedy-drama, Avan Ivan, in 2011. Although the film turned out to be an average box office grosser, their scenes together turned out to be a major plus and their chemistry went on to be appreciated by fans and critics alike. Not much is known about the upcoming Anand Shankar-Vishal-Arya project apart from the fact that it will include loads of action.

Vishal had recently wrapped up his much-awaited cyber action thriller film, Chakra, which has been directed by debutant MS Anandan. He is also working on the highly-anticipated Thupparivaalan 2, the sequel to the 2017 smash hit, Thupparivaalan. The upcoming sequel will incidentally be his directorial debut after filmmaker Mysskin dropped out due to creative differences and financial issues.

As for Arya, he is currently awaiting the release of the live-animation action film, Teddy, which will see him paired opposite his wife Sayyeshaa. The film will be the couple's third on screen appearance together after Ghajinikanth and last year's Kaappaan. Arya is also at present working on director Pa. Ranjith's Salpetta, in which he will be seen playing the role of a boxer based out of North Madras. Images and videos of the actor hard at work at the gym have gone viral since day one and have created massive expectations considering it is also Pa. Ranjith's next after his Kaala with 'Superstar' Rajinikanth.
