Vikram’s awaited historical drama, Mahavir Karna, has been encountering glitches ever since it was announced earlier this year; recently there have even been rumours that the project was shelved. But fans may yet hold on to hope as director RS Vimal himself has confirmed that the project is still on. Reportedly, Vimal is currently in Nepal, finalising locations.

Vikram will be seen starring alongside Malayalam actor Suresh Gopi. Director RS Vimal is also the scriptwriter of Mahavir Karna. The director had debuted with the noted Malayalam romantic tragedy Ennu Ninde Moideen and Mahavir Karna is his second project. Author-critic B Jayamohan, who gave us gems like Venmurasu (renarration of the Mahabharatha) is working on the Tamil adaptation of the script.

The 300-crore budget endeavour, which will be released in Hindi and Tamil, will be shot mostly in north India and Nepal. The principal photography had begun earlier in February this year and the director stated that the first look poster maybe expected soon as it will be published shortly after the cast list is finalised.
