Chiyaan Vikram's Cobra is set for its grand theatrical release on August 11 and the fans are eagerly looking forward to the d-day. Last night (June 27), the makers made a huge announcement about Cobra, informing that the Tamil Nadu theatrical distribution rights have been acquired by Udhayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Movies. The presence of Red Giant Movies will now assure the wide release of Cobra across Tamil Nadu. That being said, the makers have now finalized another deal, this time on the International circuit.

The entire overseas theatrical distribution rights of Cobra has been snapped by United India Exporters for a record price and the announcement regarding that was made by the company through a special tweet. The update has garnered wide attention and it looks like Cobra is already one of the most anticipated films in the trade circle. Cobra is helmed by Ajay Gnanamuthu of Demonte Colony and Imaikkaa Nodigal fame and has music composed by the legendary A.R.Rahman. Produced by SS Lalit Kumar under the banner of 7 Screen Studio, the film will have cinematography handled by Harish Kannan while Bhuvan Srinivasan and Dhilip Subbarayan have taken care of the editing and stunt choreography departments respectively.

Srinidhi Shetty of KGF 2 fame will be playing the female lead in this film and it will mark her first straight Tamil film. Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan will be making his acting debut with this action thriller and he will be essaying a negative character. Mirnalini Ravi, KS Ravikumar, Roshan Matthews, Miya George, Anandaraj, and others form the supporting cast. Cobra will feature Vikram in multiple avatars and it is going to be a visual treat for the fans. The post production works are happening in full swing and is right on track to hit the screens on August 11. Apart from Cobra, Vikram also has movies like Ponniyin Selvan and Chiyaan 61 (with Pa Ranjith) in his lineup.
