Thalapathy Vijay's Beast is off to a flying start at the box office and the film has opened to mixed reviews from the critics and general audience. Beast is directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and produced by Sun Pictures, with music composed by Anirudh Ravichander. Following Beast, Vijay will next be seen in Thalapathy 66 which has already got huge expectations among the fans. Thalapathy 66 is directed by Vamshi Paidipally of Thozha and Maharshi fame and it is touted to be an emotional family entertainer. The film is expected to showcase the lighter and fun side of Vijay and it is going to be a welcoming changeover for the star.

The shooting of the film kickstarted a few days back in Chennai and the shoot commenced with a song shoot. Having said that, director Vamshi has shared a new development on Thalapathy 66 and it has caught the attention of the fans. Director Vamshi took part in the Aha Tamil (OTT platform) launch event that happened yesterday (April 14) in Chennai and during his speech, the talented filmmaker had some interesting things to say about the Vijay starrer. Talking about it, he said, "I know the expectation riding on the Vijay sir film which is tentatively called Thalapathy 66.

So, I am kind of scared to talk about anything now. We just finished the first schedule and the second schedule is to start soon. With all the love and respect that I am taking from you, I can promise you for sure that we will deliver a great film". Well, it is indeed interesting to know that the first schedule of Thalapathy 66 has been completed and the team is heading towards the second. The clipping of director Vamshi talking about this has been doing the rounds on social media since last night.

Thalapathy 66 will have music composed by S Thaman who has become one of the most sought after composers in South cinema. Produced by Dil Raju, this film will have Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead, while Sarath Kumar will be seen in a pivotal role.
