'Thalapathy' Vijay's Beast is set to open in theatres worldwide on April 13 and the demand for the tickets during the advance bookings has been nothing short of stellar up until now. Produced under the prestigious Sun Pictures banner and featuring music by Anirudh Ravichander, the mass action thriller film's director Nelson Dilipkumar sat down for an interview with Vijay, which was telecast on Sun TV on Sunday and has since been the talk of the town. Among the various highlights in the Beast interview, the actor was asked about his next film, the tentatively titled Thalapathy 66 being bankrolled under Telugu producer-distributor Dil Raju’s Sri Venkateswara Creations banner.

During the interview, Nelson queries Vijay about Thalapathy 66 and whether it is a Tamil-Telugu bilingual as being reported by many. The superstar said, "It is a Tamil film. Just like all our previous films that are dubbed in Telugu, this one too will be the same. Since producer Dil Raju and director Vamshi Paidipally are Telugu-speaking people, many began thinking I'm doing a Telugu film. This is a proper Tamil film and Dil Raju wanted to produce a venture here." Thalapathy 66 kicked off production last week after a formal pooja, which saw the film's heroine Rashmika Mandanna, music director Thaman. S, veteran actor Sarathkumar, along with Vamshi Paidipally and Dil Raju grace the occasion.
