Acclaimed Tamil writer Jeyamohan recently sat down for an interview with Galatta to talk about his story in Silambarasan TR's Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu, while also sharing anecdotes about his upcoming projects that include Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu 2. The sequel to the 2006 box office blockbuster Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu starred 'Ulaganayagan' Kamal Haasan as DCP Raghavan IPS and was directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon. With both Kamal Haasan and Gautham Menon recently confirming that Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu 2 is indeed in development, writer Jeyamohan has now for the first time shared a one-line story for the sequel.

Jeyamohan said, "We have discussed a one-line and we have to develop it further." He added, "In the first film, he played the role of a police officer who was in service. Now, if we make this film, he will be retired. So, it comes down to why a retired officer is once again being called back to duty. The story will start from that point and go forward." The buzz for Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu 2 took a new flight after the Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu audio and trailer launch event when Kamal Haasan revealed that Gautham Menon had shared an idea for the sequel a couple of years back. Gautham Menon eventually went on to inform everyone that the script for Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu 2 was being developed by Jeyamohan.

The one-line shared by Jeyamohan about Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu 2 will no doubt add to the excitement as fans have been expressing their desire to witness the project come to fruition soon. Whether the sequel will be a continuation of Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu or not is unknown at this point and it now remains to be seen how the one-line story shared by Jeyamohan gets developed.
