Acclaimed filmmaker Vetri Maaran is currently busy shooting his next film, Viduthalai which has got high expectations among the fans and film buffs. The film stars Soori and Vijay Sethupathi in the lead roles. Earlier today (September 1), an exciting announcement was made by the makers informing that the Tamil Nadu theatrical rights of the film are acquired by Udhayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Movies and the announcement garnered wide buzz on social media. That being said, the makers have now revealed exciting details and here is the update. It has been officially confirmed by the makers that Viduthalai will be released in two parts as part 1 and part 2.

Red Giant Movies has acquired the rights for both the parts for a whopping price. While Viduthalai 1 is expected to hit the screens within the next two to three months, details regarding the release plans of Viduthalai 2 are yet to be known. According to the latest statement issued by the makers, the shooting of Viduthalai 1 has already been completed and the post production works are happening in full swing. As far as the second part is concerned, the majority of shoot has been wrapped up and just a few more portions are left to be shot. Recently, a train set and railway bridge worth Rs.10 crores was constructed and an important sequence was shot there by the makers.

Earlier, the art department headed by Jackie had erected a huge village set in Sirumalai. Up next, a breath-taking action sequence between Vijay Sethupathi and Soori will be shot in Kodaikkanal and the team is gearing up to begin the schedule. Peter Hein will be choreographing this action episode. Viduthalai is said to be an intense story that is filled with strong content and details and therefore, the makers decided to split the film into two parts. Viduthalai features Bhavani Sre, Prakash Raj, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Rajiv Menon, Chethan and others in important roles, with music composed by the legendary Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja.
