Director Vetri Maaran is currently busy with the filming of his next film Viduthalai which features Soori and Vijay Sethupath in the lead roles. The film has got high expectations among the fans and film buffs and it is being made as a two part film. Initially the film was started as a standalone film but as the shooting progressed, the makers felt that the film deserves two parts and the announcement regarding the same was made earlier this month. That being said, an interesting update on the film has been known and the development has garnered buzz on social media.

An intense action packed schedule has been wrapped up and the team is said to be elated with the output. Quite a few intense action sequences featuring Soori and Vijay Sethupathi were shot in this schedule which took place in Kodaikanal. Peter Hein choreographed the stunt sequences in this schedule. The film is nearing completion and further updates regarding the progress of the movie will be known in the coming days. Viduthalai will be an intense drama which is based on Jeyamohan's short story, Thunaivan. Bhavani Sre of Thangam (Paava Kadhaigal) fame plays the female lead in this film which has music composed by Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja.

Produced by Elred Kumar under the banner of RS Infotainment, the first part of Viduthalai is expected to release in theatres in December. This is Soori's first film as a protagonist and the fans are eagerly looking forward to witnessing this new dimension of him.
