"I think Leo will be one film to look forward to because..." - Venkat Prabhu reveals why! SUPER EXCITING STATEMENT!

Venkat prabhu talks about thalapathy vijay leo movie lokesh kanagaraj custody press meet - Tamil Movie Cinema News

Blockbuster filmmaker Venkat Prabhu's next big film, Custody, is all set to open in Telugu and Tamil on May 12 and promotions for  the Naga Chaitanya and Krithi Shetty-starrer have kicked off. During the press meet of the upcoming mass action entertainer in Hyderabad, the hit director was asked about why there aren't many Tamil films that are being made on a pan-Indian level. Responding to the query, Venkat Prabhu stated, "I think Leo will be a film, which will have that impact in all languages because they have a lot of actors from all different states. I think Vikram had that. After bringing Fahadh Faasil into it and Vijay Sethupathi, few films are there, but we are not as lucky as Telugu producers and directors. And, I think slowly that will also happen. A pan-Indian Tamil film like what Baahubali made, what KGF made there and RRR, Pushpa. All over India, everybody started looking at South because of these films. So, the pan-India thing started only because of Baahubali (sic)."

Explaining how Mani Ratnam and Shankar's films used to get dubbed in several languages before the label 'pan-India' came into effect, Venkat Prabhu went on to explain that the success of SS Rajamouli's Baahubali was instrumental in making South Indian films get a bigger audience, while also adding that Vijay's Leo will be one Tamil film to watch out for next. He said, "The box office numbers is totally different now from then. The number of theatres, the numbers is very high. I think Leo will be one film to look forward to because it's got a lot of actors in it and surprisingly I think a lot of fans for Lokesh Kanagaraj and his Universe (LCU) that he's trying to create. Hopefully it works like Marvel Universe for Tamil (sic)."

Custody marks Venkat Prabhu's film-making debut in Telugu and is also simultaneously coming out in Tamil under producer Srinivasaa Chitturi's Srinivasaa Silver Screen banner. The film featuring music by 'Maestro' Ilaiyaraaja and 'Little Maestro' Yuvan Shankar Raja also stars Arvind Swami, Sarathkumar, Priyamani,  Sampath Raj, Premji, Vennela Kishore, Premi Vishwanath, among others in major supporting roles.
