The announcement of 'Thalapathy' Vijay's next big film on Sunday, the tentatively titled Thalapathy 68, to be directed by blockbuster filmmaker Venkat Prabhu under the prestigious AGS Entertainment banner and featuring music by celebrated composer Yuvan Shankar Raja is the talk of the town. With the announcement of the upcoming venture coming as a big surprise to many and the film revealed to be in development on a grand scale, the request for more new updates has already begun. Venkat Prabhu, who attended the launch of Bigg Boss star and actor Daniel Annie Pope's Theatre Act Workshop yesterday, was asked about boarding Thalapathy 68, with the hit director informing media persons that all updates about the Vijay-starrer will be coming out only after the release of his Leo.

Venkat Prabhu, whose latest release Custody, a Telugu-Telugu bilingual, starring Naga Chaitanya is currently running in theatres, was also asked whether Ajith Kumar and Vijay would be sharing screen space as the filmmaker's father Gangai Amaran had stated sometime back that talks were being held for both the superstars to appear in one film together. The hit director went on to clarify that his father was only expressing his desire for such a film to happen. Having previously directed Ajith's 2010 box office money-spinner, Mankatha, the Chennai 600028 director also clarified that there are no plans for the actor to appear in a cameo in Thalapathy 68 alongside Vijay. Venkat Prabhu further stated that revealing everything at such an early stage will lead to a lack of surprise and that it is all a big suspense at this point.

Although Venkat Prabhu's latest statement about Ajith not being a part of Vijay's Thalapathy 68 might come as a bit of a disappointment to some, considering it has been a big dream over the years to witness both the Tamil superstars together in the same film, fans have been extending their wishes to the filmmaker ahead of filming on the high-profile project later this year. Thalapathy 68, which is AGS Entertainment's landmark 25th venture, has been announced to come out in theatres worldwide in 2024, with Vijay's Leo being directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj set to arrive in cinemas on October 19 ahead of the Ayudha pooja holidays.
