Silambarasan TR's latest release Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu has been an absolute rage at the box office in its opening weekend and the official box office numbers have been revealed. The film which released in theatres on September 15 amidst high expectations opened to mixed to positive reviews from the critics and film buffs, but the mixed reviews did not affect the film's box office performance. It took a massive opening on its first day, becoming the highest ever grossing Silambarasan TR film and now, the box office collection for the first four days (Sept 15 - Sept 18) has been revealed officially.

The film has made a huge collection of 50.56 crores in its opening weekend and in just four days, the film has managed to enter the 50 crore club. If the film holds this momentum at the box office in the coming days, Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu is sure to enter the 100 crore club as well. This is a huge feat indeed and Silambarasan TR's success streak continues. This has also paved the way for the sequel of Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu which will be going on floors early next year probably. The scripting works have already begun and Jeyamohan is working on the writing.

Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu - Part 1: The Kindling traces the life journey of Muthu Veeran from being a naive innocent lad from a village to becoming the underground don in North India. The film is being praised for Silambarasan's outstanding performance and A.R.Rahman's brilliant score, backed by Jeyamohan's writing and Gautham Menon's packaging. The film features Siddhi Idnani as the female lead, while Neeraj Madhav, Appukutty, Siddique, Radikaa Sarathkumar, Jaffer, and others play pivotal roles.
