Actor Vemal, who was last seen in Evanukku Engeyo Matcham Irukku last year and is attached to upcoming films namely Kanni Raasi and Kalavaani 2.
The news of Tamil actor Vemal along with his four friends attacking Kannada actor Abhishek, who was staying at a service apartments at Virugambakkam in Chennai has left many shocked.
Apparently Vemal and his friends, who were in an intoxicated state on March 10 at around 1:30AM had asked for a place to stay overnight to which Abhishek had stated he cannot help as he is not the in-charge person for the request.
Soon after, an argument ensued and led to Vemal and his friends physically attacking and verbally abusing Abhishek, who is part of an upcoming Tamil film titled Aval Adhu Avan.
Now, CCTV footage has officially been released by the Tamil news channel News7 Tamil where we witness visuals showing Vemal and his friends attacking Abhishek physically.
In the footage, we also see one of the individuals shutting down the CCTV cameras outside of the building and above them. However, a CCTV camera from a room inside shows clearly the Kannada actor getting kicked and stomped on.
A complaint had then been filed by Abhishek at the Virugambakkam police station with Vemal and his friends now booked under sections 294B and 323 with investigation already underway. These are bailable warrants and the police have been trying to bring in the actor for an interrogation, whose phone has been switched off since the night of the incident and is currently absconding.
