Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam is one of the most popular movies in Sivakarthikeyan's career and almost all the actors in that movie gained a lot of recognition. One actor who made quite a mark through this movie is Thavasi, who played the role of Soori's father. His quirky dialogue, "Karuppan Kusumban", became quite a hit and following this movie, he has acted in many vital roles in hit movies like Azhagarsamyin Kuthirai, Rajini Murugan and others! Recently, he met with an accident while returning from a shooting spot and has suffered severe injuries.
Reports state that Thavasi had taken part in the shoot of a popular serial, in a location near the Theni-Dindigul border. After completing the shoot, the actor and a couple of others were returning to their hotel in a car when they met with an accident. Thavasi sustained heavy injuries while a photographer also travelling in the same car, lost his life in this accident. The deceased photographer is said to be Stills Ravi, a regular in all the movies of Super Good Films. This accident is said to have happened near a village called Utthamapalayam.
The serial in which Thavasi went to act in, is reportedly a popular one on a leading satellite channel and is directed by Raj Kapoor, who has earlier directed many movies as well as acted in quite a substantial number of movies.
