Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan is the next big pan Indian release in the country and the film is expected to have a massive release on a record number of screens. Bankrolled by Lyca Productions in association with Madras Talkies, the film is scheduled to hit the screens on September 30. The film is set to be released in 5 languages - Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi, and Malayalam. Meanwhile, it has now been officially confirmed that leading producer Dil Raju will be presenting the film across theatres in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Dil Raju is one of the most successful and reputed producers in Telugu cinema who is currently producing two of the mega biggies of South Indian cinema - Thalapathy Vijay's Varisu and Shankar's RC 15 with Ram Charan. Dil Raju's association with Ponniyin Selvan was officially confirmed by Mani Ratnam in the recently held second single launch of PS 1. The second single launch event of Ponniyin Selvan took place in Hyderabad yesterday (August 19) and during his speech, Mani Ratnam confirmed the same. The legendary filmmaker also thanked Megastar Chiranjeevi for a special reason and it looks like the superstar actor has lent his voice to the Telugu version of the film.

Talking about it, Mani Ratnam said, “I have to thank Chiranjeevi Garu. I will not say the reason behind it. You will know it once you watch the film. I have to thank Rajamouli Garu. He gave us the confidence to make larger-than-life films and that too in multiple parts. I’m handing over the responsibility of this film to Dil Raju Garu. He should take care of my baby in Telugu. I should also thank Tanikella Bharani Garu for his unconditional support,”. Ponniyin Selvan features Chiyaan Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Trisha, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the lead roles and has music composed by A.R.Rahman.
