National Award-winning Hindi actor Rajkummar Rao's next film, HIT - The First Case, is set to open in cinemas worldwide on July 15, and will see him playing the role of a police officer named Vikram. The much-awaited trailer for the upcoming film has been released on Thursday, June 23, and shows the Badhaai Do actor spearheading the investigation of a young girl who's gone missing, while also battling his own personal demons and post-traumatic stress due to his past. HIT - The First Case trailer shuffles from being an investigative thriller where Rajkummar Rao is leading the probe of a girl gone missing, while also showing his relationship with his girlfriend played by Sanya Malhotra, who as well disappears before the visuals end up in several moments showing full-blown action.

HIT - The First Case is an official remake of the acclaimed Telugu film of the same title and was released in theatres in February 2020 before the lockdown. Directed by Dr. Sailesh Kolanu, who also helmed the original, the Telugu version starred Vishwak Sen and Ruhani Sharma in the lead roles and was produced by actor Nani’s Wall Poster Cinema banner, with the film receiving a strong fan following after its release on Amazon Prime Video. HIT - The First Case has been produced jointly by Bhushan Kumar, Krishnan Kumar, and Kuldeep Rathore's T-Series in collaboration with the Dil Raju Productions banner, a subsidiary of blockbuster Telugu producer Dil Raju's Sri Venkateswara Creations. South Indian cinema fans will know that Dil Raju is currently one of the most talked-about film personalities as he is also currently producing the highly-anticipated Tamil film, Varisu, with 'Thalapathy' Vijay and Rashmika Mandanna, which is scheduled to hit screens on Pongal 2023.

The ensemble cast for Rajkummar Rao and Sanya Malhotra's HIT - The First Case also includes Dalip Tahhil, Milind Gunaji, Shilpa Shukla, Sanjay Narvekar among others, while the technical team features music director Manan Bhardwaj, cinematographer S. Manikandan, editor Garry BH, production designer Mandar Nagoankar, action director Sunil Rodrigues, with the film's dialogues written by Girish Kohli.
