Earlier today (July 5), popular Tamil director Vijay Chandar's mother D Susila passed away and the news has taken Kollywood by shock and sorrow. Vijay Chandar officially confirmed the news about his mother's demise through the official PR sources. Details regarding the cause of death are yet to be known. It has been confirmed that the last rites will take place at Arakkonam, their native and her mortal remains will by leaving from Chennai at 6 AM, tomorrow (July 6).

The mortal remains has been kept at Vijay Chandar's residence in Chennai, near Forum Mall, Vadapalani, for people from the film industry to pay their final respects. For the unversed, Vijay Chandar made his directorial debut in Tamil cinema with Silambarasan TR's Vaalu which released in theatres after a long and patient wait. Despite the film opening to mixed reviews, Vijay Chandar earned a bankable name among the fans since Vaalu offered a handful of heroic moments that elevated the stardom of Silambarasan TR. Following Vaalu, Vijay Chandar teamed up with Chiyaan Vikram on the action drama, Sketch, which released for the festive occasion of Pongal in 2018. The film featured Tamannaah as the female lead and had music composed by Thaman S. Later, Vijay Chandar joined hands with Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi for the rural action drama, Sanga Tamizhan.

Recently, Vijay Chandar turned a producer and he will be venturing into production with Hansika's upcoming untitled film, directed by Sabari - Saravanan of Koogle Kuttapa fame. KA Sakthivel will be handling the cinematography of this film. Vijay Chandar is producing this Hansika starrer under his banner of Vijay Chandar Film Works.
