Hit Dhanush-starrer film Vaathi was released last week in Tamil and as Sir in Telugu. The film features the hit actor and music director combo Dhanush and GV Prakash. The song Va Vaathi from the movie became a song that was on repeat mode for many. The film features a male version of the popular song, sung by the actor himself. Vaa..Vaathi Dhanush Reprise version has just dropped on Adhithya Music, as a lyric video with lyrics penned by the actor himself. The Telugu version of the song Mastaar..mastaaru is also sung by Dhanush with lyrics from Ramajogaiah Shetty. It features some clips form the actor while recording the song in GV's studio and some clips from the movie.
The director of Vaathi/Sir Venky Atluri made a video statement earlier that was shared by the film's production house Sithara Entertainment. The director who has worked majorly in Telugu movies thanked all Tamil people who made the movie a successful one and added he doesn't know how to thank the fans for their love. "There is a gift for all of you from Dhanush Sir and Vaathi team" said Venky Atluri citing the song release and added he hopes everyone likes it. The director spoke in both Tamil and Telugu in the film as Vaathi was the first bilingual for Dhanush. The music director of the movie GV Prakash had also shared the post saying the song was one of the most requested one from fans.
Vaathi is an action drama that revolves around the education system set in the 90s. It has Samyuktha, Samuthirakani, Sai Kumar, Tanikella Bharani, Thotapalli Madhu, Narra Srinivas, Pammi Sai, Hyper Aadhi and other in support roles. Media reports stated the film has grossed ₹60 crores worldwide since its release on 17th February. The OTT rights of the film was bagged by Netflix, while Sun Network bagged the Satellite rights.
