Actress Trisha ended 2018 on a high note with an acclaimed performance in the smash hit romantic film, 96, opposite ‘Makkal Selvan’ Vijay Sethupathi and began 2019 successfully as ‘Superstar’ Rajinikanth’s pair in the action blockbuster multi-starrer, Petta.

Following the two consecutive successes, Trisha is at present attached to several films that include the female-centric projects namely the remake of the hit Hindi film, NH 10, titled Garjanai, 1818, based on the events of the 2008 Mumbai attacks, most likely as a kidnapped doctor in Paramapadham Vilayattu, the long-awaited Sathuranga Vettai 2, the detective venture, Kuttrapayirchi, and a film under the All In Pictures banner.

That said, sources close to us have now revealed that Trisha has been eyed to play the lead in an upcoming film, touted to be the remake of the Hindi film, Badla, which is currently running to packed houses in theatres across the country.

Trisha will be reprising Taapsee Pannu’s role from Badla, which incidentally is the official remake of the Spanish 2017 film, Contratiempo titled as The Invisible Guest in English, and went on to garner tremendous critical acclaim.

With the Tamil remake of Badla still in its nascent stages, an official statement is awaited on Trisha’s participation as well as who will be reprising Amitabh Bachchan’s role including the director of the film.
