Tom Cruise is set to get everyone's hearts pumping faster as he takes on his next high-stakes mission in Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One scheduled to premiere in theaters on July 14, 2023. The actor and the film's team have been teasing a wild ride with the upcoming film and a motorcycle stunt in particular, which they have been preparing for years now. All that has since come to fruition and the team on Monday, December 19, released a new behind-the-scenes featurette showing Cruise and the film’s director Christopher McQuarrie hard at work in getting the specifics of the high-octane stunt sequence, which has the global superstar jumping off a ramp specifically built atop a high-rise cliff.

The 9-minute Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One BTS shows Cruise, McQuarrie, and the film's stunt team overseeing every single aspect of the sequence, which is said to be yet another big "cliffhanger" in the franchise, with months and months of preparation where the actor can be seen pushing the limits with the technical crew in landing equipment atop the cliff via helicopters. "This is far and away the most dangerous thing we’ve ever attempted," Cruise says in the featurette (something only he would ever say).

Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One is the seventh installment of the globe-trotting blockbuster espionage spy thriller franchise, which sees Tom Cruise reprising his role as Impossible Missions Force (IMF) special agent Ethan Hunt. He will be seen once again alongside franchise regulars Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, while Henry Czerny, Vanessa Kirby, and Frederick Schmidt are reprising their roles from earlier Mission Impossible films, with Hayley Atwell, Pom Klementieff, Cary Elwes, Rob Delaney, Indira Varma, Shea Whigham, Mark Gatiss, Esai Morales, and Charles Parnell forming the new cast.

Back in May, an action-packed teaser trailer for Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning showed several death-defying sequences that include car chases, a battle with a sniper in a harsh desert storm, and the aforementioned bike stunt too. Christopher McQuarrie, who previously helmed the fifth and sixth installments - Rogue Nation (2015) and Fallout (2018) - in the MI franchise, has also directed Dead Reckoning - Parts One and Two, with the second film set to open in cinemas on June 28, 2024.
