The Kerala Story is a Hindi language film that was released on May 5th. The film sparked controversy from the release of the trailer of the film. It was directed by Sudipto Sen, who previously made films like Aasma, The Last Monk, Lucknow Times, etc. Now, the next film of the director has been announced. The film is titled Saharasri. It is presented by Legend Studios and Dr Jayantilal Gada of Pen Studios. The film will be produced by Sam Khan and Sandeep Singh. The makers have also announced that the film will have music composed by Oscar Award winner A.R. Rahman. This denotes that the next film of The Kerala Files director will be a bio-pic of Subrata Roy who founded Sahara India Pariwar which operated many businesses. He was also named among the 10 most powerful people in India. The director Sudipto Sen has also mentioned in the tweet that it will be a tale of resilience and triumph to reveal what is unspoken, unheard and unfathomed.
The previous film of the director Sudipto Sen titled The Kerala Story grossed over Rs.225 crores at the box office despite backlash and controversy. It revolves around three women, who are lured and converted into Islam by a peer and are recruited by the Islamic State of Syria. There were pleas calling for the ban of the release of the film but they were dismissed. However, it was banned in West Bengal. The film has Adah Sharma, Yogita Bihani, Sonia Balami and Siddhi Idnani in lead roles. It was produced under the banner of Sunshine Pictures.
