SA Chandrasekhar, the father of Thalapthy Vijay, is a well-known person in the Tamil film industry. He has directed over 60 films in various languages including Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi. He has delivered hits like Sattam Oru Iruttarai, Rasigan, Once More and so on. He also introduced his Son Vijay and directed many movies featuring him in his early years. The director turned into a supporting first actor in the movie Kudumbam and then went on doing significant roles time and again. Recently, he was seen in the mega-hit 2021 film Maanadu starring STR as he took on the role of a political leader named Arivazhagan. SA Chandrasekhar performed a special pooja in Rameshwaram Temple recently. After the pooja, the producer and Director addressed reporters and answered some of their questions.
Speaking to reporters, SA Chandrasekhar who last directed the film Naan Kadavul Illai was asked if he is exploring more roles as an actor. He said he is acting in some roles and is doing something or other in the industry. When asked about the success full career of his son Vijay. The director answered that “It's because of god’s blessings, good grace of my father and mother and my prayers and his dedication” The director went on to say if one works hard with dedication the superior power will lift them.
When a reporter asked when Vijay Makkal Iyakkam will become a political party. SA Chandrasekhar became enraged and said please ask a question that’s only appropriate inside a temple. When he posed a question of whether he will give the prasadam (sacred food) to the famous actor Vijay. The director said he will pray for himself then his son Vijay and then only he will pray for his wife and grandchildren and he will also pray for all the fans who love the star. It revealed that the director prioritizes of the well-being of his son 'Thalapathy' Vijay, just like Vijay's fans.
