Fan wars on social media can be toxic and that just took centre stage earlier today when a few select Ajith fans started trending the hashtag, "#RIPActorVijay", on Twitter. The hashtag soon went on to top the India trends and drew sharp criticism from Vijay fans, many followers of Ajith as well as the neutral audience. With many expressing their disappointment over the behavior of these few fans, actor Sibi Sathyaraj took to his Twitter page to lash out at the hashtag while issuing a statement saying history has proven negativity only makes a person stronger along with a picture of Vijay from the Mersal audio launch.

While Vijay is at present working on his upcoming film, Bigil, an action sports drama, under Atlee’s direction, he will also begin the highly anticipated, Thalapathy 64, to be helmed by director Lokesh Janagaraj, which is reportedly being planed for an April/May 2020 release.
