It came as a big unexpected surprise on Tuesday, January 10, when 'Thalapathy' Vijay released the Tamil trailer of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan. The Tamil superstar took to Twitter and wished the 'Bollywood Baadshah' for the release of his upcoming film, which is hitting screens worldwide on January 25 coinciding with the Indian Republic Day weekend. Sharing the link to Shah Rukh Khan's upcoming film's Tamil trailer, Vijay wrote, "Wishing @iamsrk sir and the team all the best for #Pathaan". Check out Vijay's tweet below: 

Vijay's tweet has come as a huge surprise for fans considering he doesn't frequent social media often. It is to be noted that the Tamil actor has shared a great camaraderie with Shah Rukh Khan over the years, with each of their appearances receiving a phenomenal response. Shah Rukh Khan was seen along with blockbuster Tamil director Atlee during the shooting of their upcoming pan-Indian film, Jawan, last September in Chennai, with Vijay also posing with the duo in the photograph, which took social media by storm. 

Releasing in regular and IMAX formats, Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan also stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham and has been directed by Siddharth Anand under Aditya Chopra's Yash Raj Films banner. He also has Jawan slated for release on June 2, which sees 'Lady Superstar' Nayanthara and Anirudh Ravichander making their big Bollywood debut. Shah Rukh Khan will be wrapping up 2023 with Dunki opposite Taapsee Pannu and is being directed by Rajkumar Hirani of Munna Bhai M.B.B.S., 3 Idiots, PK, and Sanju fame. Vijay, on the other hand, will be seen in Varisu opening in cinemas worldwide on January 11 ahead of the Pongal festivities and has him sharing screen space with Rashmika Mandanna under Vamshi Paidipally's direction. The Tamil superstar is currently filming his upcoming next, the tentatively titled Thalapathy 67 with filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj, and is their big reunion after their 2021 box office blockbuster, Master.
