'Thalapathy' Vijay's Beast opened in theatres worldwide on April 13 and took an electrifying opening at the box office. Nelson Dilipkumar has directed the film under the Sun Pictures banner after delivering back-to-back hits with the Nayanthara-starrer Kolamaavu Kokila and Doctor with Sivakarthikeyan, with the latter being the first film to release after the lockdown and subsequently entered the 100 crore club last year. As Beast continues to witness a strong showing in cinema halls, National Award-winning stunt choreographer duo Anbariv, who oversaw the action sequences in the film, shared an interesting tidbit about how Vijay had prepared for a fight scene that involved him on roller skates.

Speaking to Galatta in an exclusive interview, Anbariv said, "We told Vijay sir about the roller-skating sequence on the sets of Beast during the shooting at the last moment. Beyond him being surprised, we were taken aback by what happened next. We offered him options like shooting the sequence using a body double, but he replied back saying he needs an hour's time. In the next hour, Vijay sir made arrangements for skating shoes and began moving around in them with the assistance of two persons. Shortly afterward, he told them to walk away and then performed on his own on the skates. We later came to know that he was doing this sequence after 20 years and last wore them for the 'Oodha Oodha Oodha Poo' song in Minsara Kanna, which was released in 1999." Anbariv further added, "There was a point during the shooting when we were worried if Vijay sir would fall while shooting the sequence and conveyed the same to him. However, he said that it was part of the job and he didn’t flinch about such an outcome. He then did the entire sequence without falling down on even a single occasion and that was the biggest highlight for us."
