'Thalapathy' Vijay made a simple and stylish appearance at filmmaker Atlee's wife Priya's baby shower ceremony in Chennai on Monday, December 19. Photos and videos of the Tamil superstar's entry have taken social media by storm where he is seen in a navy blue shirt and black formal trousers while greeting the couple and presenting them with a special portrait as a gift. Atlee and Priya are then seen posing for the pictures with Vijay and the trio sharing the stage has gone viral among fans, who have been extending their hearty wishes.
The Vijay-Atlee combo has been one of the most successful collaborations in Tamil cinema history and has delivered three blockbusters together. The duo joined hands for the first time in 2016's Theri, in which the actor played the role of a police officer, and turned out to be the most profitable venture of the year. Vijay and Atlee then teamed up for Mersal in 2017, which saw the superstar appearing in triple roles for the first time in his glorious career, and the film went on to become one of the biggest box office money-spinners. The highly-successful duo returned to work together for the third time in 2019's sports action drama Bigil, which saw Vijay playing dual roles once again and this time as father and son, with the film going on to become a phenomenal success. For a while now, there have been speculations that Vijay and Atlee will be coming back together for another film, which many are stating will be after the actor's Thalapathy 67 with Lokesh Kanagaraj, being called Thalapathy 68. As for Atlee, the hit director is currently working on Jawan, his Bollywood debut, which has Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role, and will also see 'Lady Superstar' Nayanthara and composer Anirudh Ravichander making their entry into Hindi cinema.
Atlee and Priya announced that they are expecting their first child last week and shared the joyous news along with photos from a recent maternity photo shoot. The couple released a statement about their pregnancy in a drawing recreated from a picture of themselves along with their dog Becky and said, "Happy to be sharing that our family is growing. Yes! Atlee and Priya got married on November 9, 2014, in Chennai, in a grand wedding ceremony, with several notable Tamil cinema celebrities and personalities also gracing the occasion.
