The tentatively titled Thalapathy 68 is the talk of the town after the film was announced on Sunday and will mark the first time actor Vijay and filmmaker Venkat Prabhu will collaborate. Being produced under the prestigious AGS Entertainment banner, the film to "be made on a grand scale" will feature music by hit Tamil cinema composer Yuvan Shankar Raja and is slated for a 2024 release. Venkat Prabhu, who is the man of the hour now, attended the Valedictory Ceremony of Dani Theatre Studio's Theatre Act Workshop being run by Bigg Boss Tamil fame and actor Daniel Annie Pope, right after the Thalapathy 68 announcement, where he addressed media persons and answered their queries about the upcoming Vijay film.

With the buzz for Thalapathy 68 skyrocketing already, a surprise cake-cutting ceremony was held at the Valedictory Ceremony of Dani Theatre Studio's Theatre Act Workshop to celebrate the Vijay-starrer's official announcement. Daniel Annie Pope, National Award-winning actor Thambi Ramaiah, among several others are seen taking part in the celebrations along with Venkat Prabhu, with photos from the event going viral on social media, while fans have been sending in their wishes to the director, who is best known for his box office hits like Chennai 600028 films, Saroja, Goa, Massu Engira Masilamani, including the blockbuster Ajith Kumar-starrer Mankatha.

Filming on Thalapathy 68 will begin after Vijay wraps up shooting on his current project, the highly-anticipated Leo, under Lokesh Kanagaraj's direction, which is scheduled to be launched into cinemas on October 19. With Lokesh Kanagaraj and Venkat Prabhu joining forces with the Tamil superstar, the excitement has shot up among fans, who are expecting perfectly-packaged entertainers in theatres.
