Thalapathy 67 is the talk of the town after the film was officially announced on Monday, January 30, by producer S S Lalit Kumar's 7 Screen Studio. The upcoming film, which began rolling earlier this month, marks the reunion of Tamil superstar Vijay and filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj after their 2021 blockbuster, Master, and is currently one of the biggest and most-awaited projects of the year. With production already underway, the Thalapathy 67 team is now off to Kashmir for the next schedule, with Vijay, Lokesh Kanagaraj, producer Lalit Kumar, and co-producer Jagadish Palanisamy among others for the next few days.

On Tuesday morning, January 31, Thalapathy 67's executive producer Ramkumar Balasubramanian expressed his excitement that he along with the entire team are flying to Kashmir aboard a private airliner, while also posting a couple of photos of his flight ticket and passage. Similarly, fans have also posted pictures from the Chennai Airport where a separate ticket counter had been allotted for the film's team to board their flight. As of now, reports state the Thalapathy 67 team will be shooting in Kashmir for 60 days, but this is yet to be confirmed and updates regarding filming are expected to come out with the passage of each day. Expectations for Thalapathy 67 have been massive right from the get-go ever since it was revealed after the release of Master that Vijay and Lokesh Kanagaraj would be coming back for another film together. The film is billed to be a gangster venture and includes several talented names in the team among whom are composer Anirudh Ravichander, cinematographer Manoj Paramahamsa, editor Philomin Raj, art director N. Sathees Kumar, stunt directors Anbariv, choreographer Dinesh to name a notable few. The Thalapathy 67 cast was not revealed in the announcement on Monday and an update is expected to come out in the first week of February informing fans about the stars who will be sharing screen space with Vijay.
