In a tragic incident, Telugu junior artist Jyothi Reddy died after she fell off a train near the Shadnagar railway station in the early hours of Tuesday. She was 26. According to reports, Jyothi had boarded the train at the Kadapa railway station on Monday night and was en route to Hyderabad. She was returning from her hometown Chitvel in Kadapa, for the Sankranti festival. The train had reached the Shadnagar railway station at around 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday when Jyothi, who was still asleep, thought she reached Kachiguda station. In an attempt to board the train again after it started moving, she fell on the ground and sustained a severe head injury, reports say.

Railway staff rushed Jyothi immediately to a nearby private hospital in Malakpet near Hyderabad, but she eventually succumbed to her injuries. The police have registered a case. Relatives of Jyothi also reached the hospital and conveyed their concerns over her tragic death. The junior artists association has also expressed their concern and condolences over her death. Jyothi’s relatives are questioning as to why the CCTV footage from the Shadnagar railway station is not being released if indeed she had sustained an injury on the premises and demanded that they be informed of the actual circumstances, while also making an appeal for justice for her family. Jyoti Reddy made appearances as a junior artist in a few Telugu films over the years and was recently seen in a song as a dancer in the Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna-starrer Pushpa.
