Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One is an upcoming spy action film written, directed, and produced by Tom Cruise and Christopher McQuarrie under the banners of Paramount Pcitures, Skydance Media and TC Productions. It is the sequel to 2018's Mission: Impossible - Fallout and is the seventh installment in the Mission: Impossible franchise. The film will feature Tom Cruise, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, and Vanessa Kirby reprising their roles with Hayley Atwell, Shea Whigham, Pom Klementieff, Rob Delaney, and Indira Varma among others joining as the new cast members.

Paramount recently released the new teaser trailer for the upcoming film including a special stunt-focused introduction with Tom Cruise first shown at CinemaCon earlier this year. This film is the first of two that will be the culmination of Tom's journey playing Ethan Hunt.

The trailer starts with flashes of all the international trips Cruise and his team of spies go on in the next movie including a massive desert, a crowded clubhouse, and a typical European town center. We can also catch a quick glimpse of a locomotive that will reportedly be the background to one of the franchise’s most thrilling action set pieces. The trailer also drops hints of the sequel’s plot, as Cruise’s Ethan Hunt is ordered to choose a side in a war to control the truth about what is right and what is wrong.

Dead Reckoning Part One and Two are both helmed by Christopher McQuarrie who was also responsible for the fifth and sixth installments of the franchise. The sixth installment, Mission: Impossible - Fallout, was the biggest commercial success of the franchise so far, bringing in more than $790 million at the international box office.

Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One is scheduled for a theatrical release on 14 July 2023 while its sequel, Dead Reckoning Part Two, has been slated to release on 28 June 2024.
