Popular Tamil dance choreographer 'Cool' Jayanth passed away due to health issues in Chennai on Wednesday morning. 'Cool' Jayanth went by his real name Jayaraj and made his debut as a choreographer in Tamil cinema in 1996 in the blockbuster action romance film, Kadhal Desam, starring Vineeth, Abbas and Tabu in the lead roles under Kathir's direction and featuring chart-buster music by A. R. Rahman. The news of 'Cool' Jayanth's sudden demise has left many in a state of shock and deep sorrow in the Tamil film industry as legendary filmmaker Bharathiraja took to social media to express his condolences. He tweeted, "My dear, your death is a big shock. My deepest condolences to Master Cool Jayanth's family." Acclaimed Tamil director Cheran too paid his tributes to the renowned choreographer and prayed for his soul to rest in peace. He wrote, "Deepest condolences... An excellent choreographer.. his demise has come at such an early age.. My condolences to his family at this hour of grief..."

Over the course of his career, 'Cool' Jayanth, who was also a part of Prabhu Deva and Raju Sundaram's dance troupes, has worked in over 500 ventures in South Indian languages alongside superstars like 'Thalapathy' Vijay and 'Thala' Ajith in Tamil, Mammootty and Mohanlal in Malayalam to name a notable few.
