Iconic filmmaker-actor and Tamil cinema legend T. Rajendar or TR as he is fondly called by fans everywhere will be returning to Chennai on Friday, July 22, from the US after undergoing successful advanced medical treatment for his health complications. A video of the multi-talented veteran along with his two sons, Silambarasan TR and Kuralarasan, and his grandson Jason Abi, have now been released on social media and show them spending time together. In the video, we see T. Rajendar addressing his grandson lovingly after which the beloved Tamil cinema veteran wishes Simbu a happy and safe journey back to India. 

Similarly, some photos released show T. Rajendar along with his wife Usha Rajendar, son Kuralarasan and a few other close family friends and relatives spending time together at major landmarks in New York City in the US. The photos show TR looking hale and healthy after undergoing treatment for his health issues, with fans and many in the Tamil film industry wishing him to get back to his usual form once again soon. On May 23, STR issued a press release about T. Rajendar's medical treatment and said, "Greetings to my beloved fans and friends from the press and media. We rushed our father to a private hospital after he complained of chest pain recently. After the medical examination, the Doctors informed us that there has been bleeding in his stomach and advised us to take him to a foreign country to provide better medical facilities. Upon their advice, we are taking him (T Rajendar) abroad for advanced medical treatment. He is doing completely fine and is in good consciousness. After undergoing the surgery successfully with good health, he will meet all of you. Heartfelt thanks for all your prayers and love."
