If you haven't watched or don't remember Swat-Kats then you're in luck because the show is making a comeback after nearly 3 decades! The original show, titled Swat Kats: The Radical Squadron first aired in 1993 only reaching two seasons. However, it was cancelled later because Ted Turner allegedly wanted to tone down the amount of violence in the series. The show is to be rebooted under the name Swat-Kats: Revolution which will be distributed worldwide by Toonz.

Set in a world of anthropomorphic felines, this series follows the high-flying adventures of Chance "T-Bone" Furlong and Jake "Razor" Clawson. Members of Megakat City's elite law-enforcement agency, the pilots become grounded after their pursuit of archvillain Dark Kat sets them at odds with the headstrong Commander Feral. Reassigned to duties at a military salvage yard, Chance and Jake create their own high-tech jet from discarded parts and dedicate themselves to protecting the city in their secret identities as the SWAT Cats. Armed to the teeth and ready to roll, these masked vigilantes continue their quest to bring down Dark Kat and other threats to the city, including recurring baddies the Pastmaster, Dr Viper and Hard Drive.

The original show was produced by Hanna-Barbera and made its debut in 1993 (-1994). The series grew in popularity over its two-season run and became the number one syndicated show the next year. The series continued to air on TV several years later and remained popular among viewers in the ‘90s.

No official release date for Swat-Kats Revolution has been announced yet, but the show will be available worldwide. Thought being a new series, the reason for what made it successful will remain. The character relationships, the smart and witty writing, the action, the imaginative stories, and the bigger than life villains will evermore be present. The new series will feature new characters while exploring contemporary themes that the new audience will identify with.
