In a shocking incident, around five relatives of late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput were killed in a road accident on Tuesday morning when their vehicle collided with a truck on National Highway number 333 in Bihar’s Lakhisarai district, IANS reported. According to reports, Sushant's family members were returning to their home at Bhandar village in Jamui district from Patna where they attended the last rites of Geeta Devi, the sister of senior Haryana police officer OP Singh, who is the brother-in-law of Sushant. The tragic accident that took place near the middle school at Pipra has been confirmed by Lakhisarai superintendent of police (SP) Sushil Kumar who said, "It was a massive collision between a truck and a Sumo in which ten persons were returning from Patna." He added, "Six persons, including the driver of the Sumo were killed on the spot, while four others who were injured have been shifted to hospital and are in critical condition". 

Two persons, Balmukund Singh and Dil Khush Singh, who were injured, have been sent to Patna in view of better treatment facilities, while the other two Balmiki Singh and Tonu Singh, are admitted at the Lakhisarai district hospital. The bodies of those who died in the high-speed collision have been sent for post-mortem to Lakhisarai hospital. Among the dead who have been identified include Laljit Singh (brother-in-law of OP Singh), his two sons Amit Shekhar alias Nemani Singh and Ram Chandra Singh. The others who died in the accident are Laljit's daughter Baby Devi, niece Anita Devi, and the driver Preetam Kumar. As of now, Kumar’s relationship with the family has not been established. This latest tragedy has taken place a year after Sushant Singh Rajput died in suspicious circumstances on June 14, 2020.
