National Award-winning Tamil actor Suriya expressed his excitement after meeting his mentor and professor Dr. M. Robert from his college days. The Soorarai Pottru star posted photos of his get-together with Prof. Dr. M. Robert, HOD of the Commerce Department, who was his mentor when he was a student of the 1995 batch at Loyola College in Chennai. The actor revealed that he sought his professor's blessings while extending his heartfelt gratitude to the educational institution's alumni for arranging the meeting. Posting pictures on Instagram, Suriya wrote in the caption: "Was thrilled to visit my mentor Prof. Dr. M. Robert, HOD of Commerce Department (1995 batch), Loyola College and take his blessings! Suriya obtained his B.Com undergraduate degree from Loyola College and the actor's latest Instagram post has once again revealed the immense respect, admiration, and adulation he holds for those in the education industry. The Jai Bhim actor had already founded the Agaram Foundation, which has been providing assistance and offering education to underprivileged students across rural Tamil Nadu. The pictures show the camaraderie between both Suriya and his professor Dr. M. Robert, with fans also extending their wishes to the leading Tamil actor-producer. 

On the work front, Suriya is currently filming the much-awaited action fantasy drama Kanguva being directed by Siva of Viswasam and Annaatthe fame. He will be seen sharing screen space with Bollywood sensation Disha Patani, who is making her Tamil cinema debut, while Yogi Babu, Natarajan Subramaniam aka. Natty, KGF fame BS Avinash, among others cast in key roles. An intense and action-packed Kanguva glimpse was released on Suriya's birthday in July giving audiences a look at the big visual spectacle awaiting them in cinemas in 2024. He is also expected to commence shooting for Vaadivaasal with National Award-winning director Vetri Maaran, who will be adapting the story from Tamil author C.S. Chellappa's novel of the same name. Likewise, Tamil cinema fans are also looking forward to the big announcement of the tentatively titled Suriya 43, which will see the star reunite with director Sudha Kongara once again after Soorarai Pottru, which went on to earn them massive critical acclaim.
