The International Film Festival of India (IFFI) announced the selection of 25 feature films and 20 non-feature titles for the Indian Panorama section on Saturday, October 22. Organized by the National Film Development Corporation, the announcement was made by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, and the selected films will be screened at the 53rd IFFI to be held from November 20 to November 28, 2022, in Goa. The Press Information Bureau released a statement saying ten Hindi films, seven English ventures, five Malayalam films, four films in Tamil and Telugu each, three Kannada films, followed by two Bengali films, and one film each in Maithili, Konkani, Manipuri, Sanskrit, Irula, Oriya, and Bhotiya languages across the two segments of feature and non-feature films will be screened at the Indian Panorama at IFFI 2022. 

The films to be showcased in the feature film category include Suriya's Jai Bhim, Kurangu Pedal directed by Kamalakannan S, and filmmaker RA.Venkat’s Kida in Tamil, followed by other language titles like Mahananda, Three of Us, The Storyteller, Major, Siya, Dhabari Quruvi, Hadinelentu, Naanu Kusuma, Lotus Blooms, Ariyippu, Saudi Vellakka CC.225/2009, Frame, Sher Shivraj, Ekda Kaay Zala, Pratikshya, Cinema Bandi, and Kudhiram Bose, while The Kashmir Files, RRR, Tonic, Akhanda, and Dharmveer….Mukkam Post Thane will be screened in the Mainstream Cinema Section. The Kannada film Hadinelentu directed by Mr. Prithvi Konanur has been announced to be the opening feature film of Indian Panorama 2022, with the jury headed by Vinod Ganatra comprising 12 members among whom are A Karthik Raja, Ananda Jyothi, Dr. Anuradha Singh, and Sailesh Dave. 

The list of non-feature films to be screened will be Pataal-Tee, Taangh, Ayushman, Other Ray: Art of Satyajit Ray, Gurujana, Hatibondhu, Clinton, The Show Must Go On, Khajuraho, Anand Aur Mukti, Vibhajan Ki Vibhishka Unkahi Kahaniyan, Fatima, Chhu Med Na Yul Med, Before I Die, Madhyantara, Wagro, Veetilekku, Beyond Blast, Rekha, Yaanam and the Tamil venture Little Wings directed by Naveenkumar Muthaiah. The Show Must Go On directed by Divya Cowasji will be the opening non-feature film of Indian Panorama, 2022, as per the jury, the announcement by PIB stated. 

Suriya's Jai Bhim produced by the actor with Jyotika under their 2D Entertainment banner and directed by T. J. Gnanavel will no doubt be the big attraction among the Tamil films, with the remaining three namely Kurangu Pedal, Kida, and Little Wings also set to take center stage at the Indian Panorama. The flagship component of IFFI was Introduced in 1978 as part of the festival’s umbrella to promote Indian films along with the country’s rich culture and heritage with the help of cinematic art.
