The Tamil courtroom drama directed by Tha. Se. Gnanavel and produced under Suriya and Jyotika's 2D Entertainment banner premiered on November 2 on Amazon Prime Video and is now sitting with a rating of  9.6 with 73k votes and has gone past The Shawshank Redemption, which has a rating of 9.3 with 2.5 million votes to take the top spot in IMDb's top 250 movies list.

This latest achievement by Suriya's Jai Bhim is one among the many praises that have come the film's way as it now stands in the league of Francis Ford Coppola's classic The Godfather in the third spot with a rating of 9.2, including other acclaimed ventures like Steven Spielberg's Schindler's List, Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction and Christopher Nolan's Inception to name a notable few apart from Frank Darabont's The Shawshank Redemption. Jai Bhim, which skipped a theatrical outing and was released on Amazon Premiere, sees Suriya playing the role of a lawyer for the first time in his career, with the film's story inspired from real-life events based on Rtd. Justice Chandru’s endeavour to bring justice to those who’ve been wronged.
