A few months back, Suriya officially announced that he will be teaming up with director Bala for a new film and the update took the fans by excitement and happiness. Ever since the announcement was made, the fans were eagerly looking forward to hearing more developments and updates about the film. Having said that, Suriya made a big revelation about the film, this morning (March 28) and here are the details about it. The Soorarai Pottru actor officially announced that the shooting of his next film with director Bala begins today and the film is said to have been planned as a quickie. The shooting has kickstarted at Kanyakumari.

The project is tentatively called Suriya 41 and it will be the actor's next outing in Tamil cinema following the hat-trick success of Soorarai Pottru, Jai Bhim, and Etharkkum Thunindhavan. Sharing a picture with director Bala from the sets of the movie, Suriya tweeted, "Been waiting for #DirBala na my mentor to say Action!!! …After 18 years, it’s happiness today…! This moment… we need all your wishes! #Suriya41". This movie will be produced by Suriya and Jyotika under the banner of 2D Entertainment and will have music composed by GV Prakash Kumar.

The star composer recently revealed that the album of the Suriya - Bala film will be a raw folk-based one and assured that the fans will like it. Director Bala's last film was Varmaa which failed big time and the ace filmmaker will be looking forward to bouncing back with the Suriya starrer. Rumours are rife that Jyotika, Krithi Shetty are also a part of the cast, but the makers are yet to make an official announcement on the same. Following the completion of Suriya 41, Suriya is expected to team up with Viswasam and Annaatthe director Siva and the project is currently said to be in the pre-production phase.

Not to forget Vaadivaasal which is going to have an important place in Suriya's filmography. Vaadivaasal is directed by Vetri Maaran and is based on the book of the same name, written by CS Chellappa.
