Following the release of Etharkkum Thunindhavan, Suriya started to shoot for his film with director Bala last month and the update had the fans excited. Suriya and Bala have worked together in cult classic films like Nandha and Pithamagan and the magical duo is back again for a new film and the fans have pinned high hopes on this one. Tentatively called Suriya 41, this film features the young and happening sensation Krithi Shetty as the female lead. Produced by Suriya and Jyotika under the banner of 2D Entertainment, this film will have music composed by GV Prakash Kumar, while Balasubramaniem has handled the cinematography.

The shooting of the film kick-started last month at Kanyakumari with the central cast and this film is expected to have an important place in Suriya's filmography. That being said, it has now been officially revealed that the first schedule has been wrapped up and the second schedule is set to begin in June. The first schedule shoot has happened for 34 days in Kanyakumari and the team is said to be elated with the way the film has come out. The second schedule will begin in June and the set works have already begun in Goa. The second schedule will happen in Goa with Suriya and the rest of the cast.

The official tweet from the makers read, "After the successful completion of the 1st schedule of 34 days in Kanyakumari, #Suriya41 is ready for the next stage! The next schedule of 15 days is all set to start in Goa in June after extensive set work! @Suriya_offl #Jyotika #DirBala @rajsekarpandian". It is going to be quite interesting to see what director Bala has in store for the audience with this film. Interestingly, this will also be a comeback of sorts for the acclaimed filmmaker as his previous release, Varmaa, received negative reviews from the audience.

After completing the Bala film, Suriya will begin shooting for the highly anticipated Vetri Maaran directorial Vaadivaasal.
