Suriya is all geared up for the grand theatrical release of his upcoming movie, Etharkkum Thunindhavan, which is set to hit the screens on March 10, Thursday. Following a gap of 2.5 years, Suriya will finally have a theatrical release and the fans have pinned high hopes on the movie. Since ET is having a pan Indian release on a record number of screens, Suriya is actively involved with the promotions of the movie and has been travelling to various cities to canvass the film. Earlier today (March 8), Suriya and the ET team visited Kerala for the promotions and press meet of the Malayalam version.

During the press meet, Suriya has revealed an interesting development on one of his possible projects and the update has served as a delightful surprise for the fans. Suriya has officially confirmed in the press meet that popular Malayalam filmmaker Amal Neerad has narrated a story to him and the duo are in talks for a possible collaboration. Suriya also added that he is hopeful of that project to materialise, provided everything falls into place at the right time. Suriya and Amal Neerad had earlier planned to collaborate for the Tamil remake of a Mammootty film, but the project did not materialise due to various reasons.

Amal Neerad is one of the leading filmmakers in Malayalam cinema who has quality movies like Anwar, 5 Sundarikal, Iyobinte Pustakam, Comrade In America, Varathan to his credit. His latest release, Bheeshma Parvam, the Mammootty starrer is running with packed houses across Kerala, turning out to be a commercially successful venture. If the Suriya - Amal Neerad film manages to get materialized, it will surely be an exciting project to watch out for. Suriya, up next, will begin shooting for his untitled film with director Bala, after which he is committed to doing films with directors Vetri Maaran and Siva.

He is also expected to team up with Soorarai Pottru director Sudha Kongara for a new film.
