Suri's death confirmed

It is now confirmed. Maddalacheruvu Suri, convicted murderer (of Paritala Ravi among others) made famous in his lifetime as a hero in Ram Gopal Varma's recent Rakta Charitra, was shot dead from point-blank range in Hyderabad on Monday. Allegedly, Suri was attacked around 3.30 p.m. by his very close associate Bhanu Kiran, who was travelling with Suri in Suri's own car.

Suri fell unconscious when he was rushed to Apollo Hospital at Jubilee Hills around 5.45 p.m. “He was not breathing and did not have any pulse,” a statement from the hospital said.

Two bullets pierced his head. He was also bleeding from the posterior part of the scalp and resuscitated by doctors but there was no improvement in his condition. He suffered a cardiac arrest and died around 7.55 p.m., doctors said.

Hyderabad Police Commissioner A.K. Khan said the investigation of the murder was handed over to the Hyderabad Detective Department; Additional CP, Crimes, S. Umapati, would supervise the probe. A team of doctors would perform the post-mortem examination to be held on Tuesday. The autopsy would be videographed for recording the findings.
