Superstar Rajinikanth is someone who never fails to appreciate quality cinema and that being said, he has now heaped praise on R Madhavan's debut directorial. Rocketry: The Nambi Effect. Madhavan's Rocketry released in theatres on July 1 and it opened to positive reviews from the critics and the general audience. Earlier this morning (July 4), Superstar Rajinikanth shared his heartfelt appreciation to Madhavan for his work in Rocketry, adding that everyone needs to watch this film.

Rajinikanth's official statement on Rocketry read (loosely translated to English), "Rocketry is a film that everyone needs to watch, especially the youth. Madhavan, in his directorial debut, has effectively narrated the struggles of Padma Bhushan Mr Nambi Narayanan who did many sacrifices for the development of ISRO (Indian Space and Research Organization). My heartiest wishes and congratulations to Madhavan for delivering a film of this standard". Madhavan was elated to receive the appreciation from Rajinikanth and he thanked the legendary actor for his nicest words.

Madhavan, replying through a video, said, "I do not know what to say or how to react. This wish will be special for our entire team and Nambi sir. Thank you so much Rajini sir. It is people like you that make it so worth it. Much love and respect to you". Rajinikanth's appreciation message must indeed be a big source of motivation for the entire team of Rocketry. Rocketry is based on the life story of Nambi Narayanan, an ISRO scientist who was falsely accused of espionage. Madhavan plays Nambi Narayanan, while Simran plays the female lead, as his wife. Suriya appears in a special cameo towards the end of the film.

Produced by Tricolour Films in association with Varghese Moolan Pictures, the film has music composed by Sam CS, while the cinematography and editing departments are headed by Sirsha Ray and Bijith Bala respectively. Rocketry is running successfully in theatres, especially in the A centres.
