Aishwarya Rajinikanth's next big film, Lal Salaam, has kicked off its next schedule in Mumbai, the Tamil filmmaker announced on social media late Thursday evening. The upcoming film being produced under the Lyca Productions banner and featuring music composed by Academy Award winner A. R. Rahman stars Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth in the lead roles, with 'Superstar' Rajinikanth playing an extended cameo as a character named Moideen Bhai. Rajinikanth, who returned to Mumbai yesterday to resume filming on Lal Salaam, was joined by legendary Indian cricketer Kapil Dev, who too has been revealed to be appearing in the upcoming sports drama film.

Announcing the recommencement of filming on Lal Salaam, Aishwarya Rajinikanth posted new photos from the film's sets and expressed her delight at Kapil Dev being a part of her new venture, while stating that she will see him soon again. Sharing the shooting spot pictures, the hit filmmaker wrote, "#lalslaam moideen bhai ! And off we go to our next schedule ,kudos team and @therealkapildev sir you are a darling 🫡 see you soon ! #thankfulgratefulblessed (sic)". The pictures show Aishwarya Rajinikanth in conversation with Rajinikanth and Kapil Dev, including Vikranth and Vishnu Vishal during various stages of filming Lal Salaam, while also giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at what's in store next.
Earlier on Thursday, Rajinikanth posted a picture from the sets of Lal Salaam on Twitter revealing that he will be sharing screen space with India's 1983 World Cup-winning captain Kapil Dev, leaving fans mighty excited. He tweeted, "It is my honour and privilege working with the Legendary, most respected and wonderful human being Kapildevji., who made India proud winning for the first time ever..Cricket World Cup!!! #lalsalaam #therealkapildev (sic)". Rajinikanth, who arrived in Mumbai last week to begin filming his portions in Lal Salaam, returned to Chennai a few days back after completing a few important portions for his role. The news of Tamil cinema's superstar and the Indian cricket icon appearing together on the same screen has raised the expectations surrounding the film, which is centered around cricket and it will no doubt be exciting to witness what Aishwarya Rajinikanth and her team are planning for fans in the days ahead.
