'Superstar' Rajinikanth's Annaatthe announced for a grand Diwali release in theatres on November 4 is currently one of the most anticipated films in the veteran actor's career in recent times. Directed by Viswasam fame Siva under the prestigious Sun Pictures banner, the upcoming film billed to be a mass masala family action drama, is the third time the actor is collaborating with the prestigious production house after Enthiran (2010) and Petta (2019). Promotions for the Rajinikanth-starrer are being carried out extensively, with the makers on Thursday finally releasing the much-awaited Annaatthe teaser that has the iconic superstar showing why he is called 'Thalaivar' by his countless fans world over. 

Rajinikanth in Annaatthe is sharing screen space with actresses Khushbu and Meena after two decades and their additions have only added massive curiosity and excitement. Likewise, the film marks the fifth time the Kaala star is appearing alongside Nayanthara after their previous collaborations namely Chandramukhi, Kuselan, Darbar, including a cameo appearance in the 'Baleilakka' song in Sivaji. Annaatthe, which primarily revolves around a brother-sister relationship, has Rajinikanth and Keerthy Suresh playing the role of siblings and the National Award-winning actress is a stellar addition to the cast, which also includes Prakash Raj, Soori, Jagapathi Babu, Abhimanyu Singh, Sathish among others in pivotal roles. 

Annaatthe has Rajinikanth amidst a rural backdrop after nearly decades when he was last seen in a similar milieu in the 1999 blockbuster Padayappa. The film has music by chart-buster composer D. Imman, whose theme music in the title announcement promo and the motion poster released sometime back, received a staggering response. Likewise, the 'Annaatthe Annaatthe' introduction song and the breezy romantic number 'Saara Kaatre' have also seen fans lap up the tracks enthusiastically, with expectations for the album to be nothing short of spectacular.
