'Superstar' Rajinikanth has been admitted to the Kauvery Hospital at Alwarpet, Chennai on Thursday to undergo his yearly routine full body health check-up. The veteran actor's wife, Latha Rajinikanth, has released a statement to the media informing that he is doing fine and will be undergoing a medical examination for a day until all tests are completed. Rajinikanth fans will be keeping a close watch on the developments related to his health as the actor had been working in an active manner for his upcoming film, Annaatthe, hitting screens as a grand Diwali release on November 4.

Back in June, Rajinikanth had traveled to the US for a health check-up after acquiring special permission from the Central government. It is to be noted that the iconic Tamil superstar’s health had deteriorated in Hyderabad during the shooting of Annaatthe earlier this year. At the time, the film's shoot had to be stalled after 4 crew members tested positive for COVID-19. Rajinikanth began shooting for Annaatthe in December last year in Hyderabad and although he tested negative for coronavirus, he went into self isolation after his BP levels fluctuated and was then rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Fans will be looking for more updates on Rajinikanth's health condition, with a statement expected to be released by the hospital in the day ahead. The actor's fans will also be praying for his health in the hopes of celebrating his Annaatthe in theatres in less than a week's time as prestigious production banner Sun Pictures has been promoting the mass masala rural family action drama extensively. Directed by Siva, Annaatthe includes a multi-star cast featuring the likes of veteran actresses Khushbu and Meena, followed by Nayanthara paired opposite Rajinikanth and National Award-winning actress Keerthy Suresh as the actor's sister
